Could ‘OnLive’ kill out consoles?
I just watched the presentation ‘OnLive’ did http://gdc.gamespot.com/video/6206692/gdc-2009-onlive-press-conference?hd=1
and I was wondering
if it never becomes obsolete and can handle any game and with only the need of buying maybe a small micro-console, could they Kill out other companies such as Nintendo and other gaming companies
( obviously not Microsoft or Sony because gaming is not all they do )
but could all other just die out and then would there ever be a need for any other gaming devices?
Doubt it.
Here’s why I think it will fail:
1. Since most ISP are starting to limit how much bandwidth we can use, that’s going to put a damper on OnLive because it’s probably going to take up a lot of bandwidth.
2. Do you know how many people are paranoid about getting hacked on the internet? If gamers have to put their credit card info on OnLive, that’s going to scare away a lot of people.
3. If people want to play in HD, they will need a fast high speed connection, otherwise, it will be average quality. Not too many homes have a really fast high speed internet service.
4. The Phantom had the same idea, but it never got off the ground.
5. I don’t know about you, but when I buy a game, I like it in a physical format, not a virtual format. I have bought virtual items from PSN, VC, and XBL, but I know that if any of those companies should get out of the video game business, I can still play those games as long as I have my PS3, 360, and Wii. With OnLive, what happens if it fails? What’s going to happen to the games that I bought? What if the games are 50 bucks each? If I buy a lot of games, I’m going to out several hundred if not thousands of dollars?

Looking for compatible lenses for the Sony A200K. Unfortunately I didn’t do any research before buying cause I have an photo assignment this week and my Nikon D40 is messing up yet again so its being sent in for repair. I’ve destroyed my life savings, Nikon. Oh, wait, I actually had a question instead of a rant, compatible lenses?
All Sony and most of the Minolta AF lenses will work on your new Sony A200K camera.
Changing camera systems costs more than updating or buying a new Nikon body I would think.
What exactly is wrong with your D40? They are pretty bulletproof.

Sony Ericsson has launched a number of features packed mobile phones under W series over a period of time. All of these phones have been appreciated by public at large. Prominent features of three Sony W series phones – Sony Ericsson W910i, Sony Ericsson W880i and Sony Ericsson W660i are discussed here.
The Sony Ericsson W910i is a quad band GSM/ UMTS camera phone. The handset is equipped with an Access NetFront web browser that displays internet pages in their true forms. It has a 2 mega pixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom. It sports a 2.4 inches, 262KTFT display that has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Pros and Cons of Plasma v. LCD?
I was going to get a 46′ inch LCD TV (a Samsung or Sony) BUT then I looked at 42′ Samsung Plasma and it looks so incredible that I want to get this Plasma now (the Plasma is the “Samsung 42″ Widescreen Plasma HDTV** (HPT4264)”).
What are the pros and cons of Plasma v. LCD?
From what I’ve heard, Plasma is better but has a burn in risk (but I’ve heard the risk is exagerrated).
Note that I will be playing my PS3 on it which can be a burn in risk.

I have a LCD tv myself. I heard that if you buy a plasma tv and it ends up going out in a couple of years you have to throw it away. As with the LCD you just change the bulbs in the back.
