I want to go to college at the University of New York or somewhere in New York Pace, specializing Music theater. I'm not sure what kind of equipment would be best. Everyone says you should get a laptop but idk. I went a MacBook Pro HP Tablet PC, or the new Sony VAIO L Series Touch Screen TV / desktop. What should I be? A desktop or laptop? What would be the best?

Simply amazing …. portable
I have three computers – a desktop and two laptops. My Asus laptop is the second. Asus is the first that I had. I thought of a netbook, because I was looking for something portable for a long journey he intended (9 flights in six weeks for a total of nearly 25,000 miles). I wanted something to take with me so I can track the e-mail, etc. during my absence. I vetoed the netbook for the money because it lacks the features I wanted – no player / burner, low battery, a small keyboard and display (too small for me – It could be great for someone else). This is the notebook that offers all the features of a netbook and continues to offer things you would like to take a laptop. It is lightweight and small, but offers a large screen for viewing. I've seen some people complain about the screen, but I have no complaints. I walked around and through many airports – and security checks. Asus Trekking me my confidence. Always there for me when I needed it. I do not know why people have complained about the quality of construction in these – I have not noticed anything that alludes, even the poor quality of this model. I thought that, after seven hours of development through the machines at checkpoints around Tokyo Manchester, United Kingdom (in points) that could not survive, but it is still strong. I can not recommend this laptop model too strong and I am very happy with it.

Much better than netbook
Although the price was slightly larger network of a book, get more with this team! What finally swayed me in my decision to purchase was the incredible battery life of 11 hours. Also I like full-size keyboard, onboard DVD / CD burner, Windows 7 Home Premium (which alone was worth a lot, compared to the operating system in the net pounds), PC3 memory, and weigh between 2 1 / 2 pounds, close to that of a net book.
I'm not familiar with computers ASUS, but I built several desktops with motherboards, and each has been rock solid and reliable. With a two year warranty, I hope that I'll have a long life and trouble with this device.

The ASUS is the third that we added to our team and I am very happy with what we received from the company. You get a laptop high quality without having to pay the premium charge others.
a) 10/10 Quality Construction – I was very nervous about the quality Construction of some previous comments. ASUS heard. It's better than the Sony VAIO (purchased less than a year before) just recycling, I Dell and HP working, we bought a few months ago. Everything is tight.
b) Keypad 9 / 10 – Actually, I know what it's like the keyboard to write what I learned to write a textbook for many years after Selectric. The keyboard is almost equal to what you can get from Lenovo. And, no, no flex that I feel right now. I can save 10/10 Lenovo
c) 10.10 Screen – A clear screens that I saw. Have you seen films HD and manipulated images using Adobe Photoshop. Can not be beat.
d) Video Card 9 / 10 – Hybrid Nvidia / Intel TMS is impressive. Cut to the Intel with the battery is transparent and can not really say you're in powersaving way. But why not a 10/10 because the Nvidia chip in 512Meg GBU … Should be 1 Gigabit.
e) Case – 10/10 – as indicated in the quality of construction … It seems incredible. I had to work really to know what panel was aluminum and plastic that was.
f) Hard Drive – 5 / 10. I was a little surprised that a disk drive 5400 rpm. Creating an image immediately replaced by a disk 7200 rpm and reload. I found that the 7200 does not seem to hurt the battery life and improves performance a bit. Taking into account the price of hard drives today, there should be no reason not to have 7200 RPM min.
g) of RAM – DDR3. Need I say more?
h) – Intel. Need I say more?
i) battery 10.10. I made a few computers with many mobile attempt to prolong battery life. I do not have to lug the power cables when the guests arrived. I can get close eight hours in battery saving mode.
j) bloatware – ASUS seems to be increasing the amount of bloatware that installed on their laptops. I just downloaded all what he said and ASUS laptop still works fine … Some of the "intelligent keys" does not work, but does not bother me. The tradeoff between the boots and fast Flash to change eating habits is worth it for me.
I do not think a lot more if you are looking a laptop that can be lugged all day. The secret of a 14 "computer screen is no bigger than 13.3" case, but it feels as if you were watching a screen much wider.

I need a laptop to take with me before leaving a summer internship out of state. I did not want a replacement "computer portable office type "since I already have a very strong gaming desktop at home.
After much research and reflection, I UL80VT decided to get the Asus. My reasons are as follows:
1) the reliability and reputation Asus: I've always been lucky with Asus motherboards for the PC that I built for friends and family members different, most Asus laptops are always more reliable than others Marks ([...])
2) Battery life: he claimed to 11.5 hours. resutls of the real world is about 7-9 hours unplugged. This time for surfing and light word processing, and allowing the Asus "profile Battery Saver" to dim the display, etc. Sometimes you will be much less use discrete graphics, bright screen, DVD, etc.

4) provided with Windows 7 pre-installed Windows 7 is simply the best operating system Microsoft has ever done, period.
May) Size and weight ideal for me: I carry this notebook in class every day in a Case Logic ENS-14 14.1-inch Neoprene Laptop (Black) in my backpack. A £ 4.8 (£ 0.8 Adapter AC Total = 5.6 pounds), it is the same weight as one of my books, and infinitely more useful!
6) Chiclet keyboard: I spaced keys, ideal for writing, easy to adapt from a full size keyboard. (There is no normal size numeric keypad, but it is expected in laptops of this size. Get a laptop 15.6 "screen if you need)
7) Fit / Good finishing Price: I like the aluminum top of this laptop a lot less fuzzy black. The screen is always black bezel on the inside, which show fingerprints, but the region that does not touch very often.
7) has an optical drive: I looked up to 13.3 "laptop but generally do not have DVD players, which is a good feature to have for the films in air travel, installing software etc.
Disadvantages:
1) glossy screen is very bright, I have a custom view to keep that I purchased online at [...] which reduced most of the light too.
2) Right palm rest sqeaks clicks a little when the wrist is placed in it. This is not very strong and do not think it's a problem. I knew it was a problem with this model in advance. Do not be surprised if this happens, even if Sell could be stronger / grind more, etc.
Other thoughts:
* Some people complained about the buttons platform experience of being under a piece of plastic. This does not really bother me at all. It is not difficult Pressing the left or right. Although Sony is expensive, you really get the best of the quality product. Actually speaking, there’s no comparison with the two brands. Sony is way ahead of competition. Sony surely looks great and you can certainly feel the class while you work on Sony. The speaker system is Dell is just so-so.
